Multi triad cables consist of groups of insulated conductors that are first twisted into triads before being cabled together in the same form as multi conductor cables. There are a wide variety of multi triad cable constructions available including unshielded, overall shielded, individually shielded triads, or even individually shielded triads with an overall shield.

When considering a multi triad cable, it is important to consider the possibility of crosstalk. Shielded triad cables eliminate crosstalk with 100% individually isolated shields over each triad within the cable.
